NAHB Honors 2009 CGR of the Year

Sherry SchwabThe National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) honored Sherry Schwab, CGR, CAPS, with the distinction of 2009 Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) of the Year. The award was presented during the International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas.

Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) is an exclusive professional designation designed to emphasize business management skills as the key to a professional remodeling operation. The CGR designation requires that graduates meet prescribed standards of business practice, possess a minimum of five years remodeling industry experience, have a proven track record of successful project management, complete a comprehensive education curriculum, and pledge to uphold the program's code of ethics. Each year, NAHB recognizes a top performer in this area.

An NAHB member since 1993, she has served as both a local and national leader in the association on various committees. Schwab also contributes to the industry through serving as an instructor for the CGR and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist designations. She has been honored several times as the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties’ remodeler of the year, in addition to receiving other awards recognizing the work of her firm and her industry leadership.

“Sherry Schwab demonstrates her passion for the remodeling industry by teaching and promoting the Certified Graduate Remodeler designation,” said NAHB Remodelers Chairman Donna Shirey, CGR, CAPS, CGP, a remodeler from Issaquah, Wash. “Her drive and leadership exemplify the qualities of an excellent remodeling professional.”
