In April of 2009, at the Building for Boomers & Beyond: 50+ Housing Symposium in Philadelphia, the 50+ Housing Council announced the six Active Adult "On the Boards" projects selected as the Best of 50+ Housing, each winning a Gold Award. These award winners were all slated to come on line in the midst of what would prove to be a devastating recession fraught with financing trouble.
